Girls water polo narrowly defeats Long Beach Wilson High School

The girls water polo team defeated Long Beach Wilson High School in a close game, by a score of 12-10 at home on Monday. It was a meaningful win for the Wolverines, beating one of their long-time rivals. This win puts the team’s record at 4-3, capping off a strong three-game win streak.

Savannah Shaub ‘23, a utility player, was enthusiastic about the outcome of the game. She said she loves being back in the pool and that the girls played a very strong game as a team. 

“It was a super close grind the entirety of the game but we played super well and ended with a win,” Shaub said.

 The Wolverines are gaining some strong momentum going into the final stretch of their season. The squad’s next match is at Mira Costa High School on Thursday.
