The girls soccer team defeated Immaculate Heart High School in an 8-0 win Monday at home. This win allows the Wolverines to continue their undefeated streak, with a 7-0 overall record and a 3-0 record in Mission League play.

Forward Alyssa Thompson ’23 was the top scorer for the night, putting up four goals. The rest of the team’s goals were more spread out, with Gisele Thompson ’24, Ariana Aazarbal ’24, Natalia Quintero ’21 and Daniela Quintero ’22 each scoring one goal.

Forward Daniela Quintero said that she is very happy about the win because 25 of her teammates made it on the field.

“Today’s game was a great team win,” Daniela Quintero said. “26 players played and contributed to our win tonight. Our strong backline was able to keep a shutout and our high-intensity attack created many goal scoring opportunities.”

Last season, the squad lost in the CIF-SS Division I quarter-final against Upland High School. Daniela Quintero said she is especially excited about future games because she feels that the team has the ability to make a deep run in the CIF-SS playoffs.

“I look forward to continuing to grow as a team as we face more challenging opponents, and to a hopefully successful CIF playoff run,” Quintero said. “We have a very experienced and determined team this year, so I look forward to seeing how far we can get.”

The squad will face off against Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy at home on April 21.
