The girls soccer team defeated Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in a 7-0 shutout at home Wednesday. The team has had a dominant start to the season, having outscored its opposition by 45 goals on the season while going 8-0.

Forward Alyssa Thompson ’23, has been especially efficient this season. She has scored nearly half of the team’s goals this year, scoring 23 of the team’s 47. Thompson, who recently committed to Stanford University, has been turning heads all year, both in track and field and during the soccer season. She said she loves what the team has been doing this year and is confident that the squad can continue on an upward trajectory.

“The team is doing this well because over the course of the season, we have really been working together well as a team,” Thompson said. “The coaches have instilled a strong team identity in our heads which has helped us keep calm and collected on the field.”

The Wolverines look to continue their undefeated streak on the road at Chaminade High School on April 23.
