Cross country qualifies for State Finals

Both the boys’ and the girls’ cross country teams will be heading to Fresno for State Finals after qualifying at CIF Finals on Saturday.

The girls took third overall while the boys grabbed the last qualifying spot in seventh place at Mount San Antonio College to continue the teams’ playoff runs. Trishta Dordi ’15 and Lizzy Thomas ’14 crossed the finish line ninth and 12th respectively in the girls’ race, as boys’ co-captain David Manahan took 13th in the boys’ race.

State Finals is the Wolverines’ final stop in their  playoff run. The postseason began with League Finals on Nov. 1, when the girls’ won their fifth straight Mission League title while the boys took second. Both teams stayed alive through the CIF races, qualifying for CIF Finals in the preliminary races on Nov. 10 and now qualifying for State Finals.

California State Finals will take place at Woodward Park in Fresno on Nov. 24.
