The boys volleyball team moves to 3-6 overall in the season after a 3-0 loss to rival Loyola High School at home on Wednesday.

The team started off slow with the first two sets going the way of Loyola High School, 19-25. Despite their 21-25 loss in the third set, the Wolverines improved their hitting and blocking towards the end of the game.

Wednesday’s Mission League defeat marked the team’s third consecutive,  3-0 loss this season. The squad has lost to St. Francis High School on April 28 and Notre Dame High School on April 30 in its past two games.

Although the team suffered a 0-3 loss, opposite hitter Sam Volokh ’23 said that he felt confident with his team’s performance.

“Despite Loyola being a really good team, I think we played very well,” Volokh said.  We hung in it until the end and I think our team, in general, was hitting and passing well. I hope for the rest of our season we can keep up the energy we had and possibly win a few more games.”

The team looks to improve its record heading into their last three games of the regular season. The squad’s next game is at St. Francis High School on the road on May 12.
