The softball team continued to struggle during its season, suffering another defeat by Alemany High School on May 4 with a score of 2-19. The squad’s overall record now stands at 0-5 and their league record at 0-4.

The Wolverines got off to a slow start, allowing eight runs in the first two innings before responding in the third with a run of their own. However, the Warriors answered back with 11 more, securing a comfortable lead the rest of the match, with neither team scoring in the remaining innings.

Despite the one-sided outcome, Shoshie Bernstein ’22 said she was proud of the team’s performance and attitude following the match.

“Our team is very young with a lot of new players, so this game was definitely rough,” Bernstein said. “But there were some very exciting and impressive plays made by a lot of my teammates. I look forward to every game because our team has a wonderful spirit and the morale is generally really good.”

Bernstein also expressed confidence in the team’s growth for future games and seasons.

“It’s so exciting to watch how our team improves every game, and I am so thankful to our coaches for the work they put in to help us get better and better,” Bernstein said. “I am completely certain that our team will only continue to get better and that next year, the other teams in our league won’t know what hit them.”

The squad looks to achieve its first win of the season in its next game against Chaminade Preparatory High School on May 6.
