Boys’ basketball moves to 2-0 in University Tournament

The boys’ varsity basketball team claimed its second straight double-digit victory in the University Tournament Tuesday, defeating St. Bernard 64-52.

The Wolverines battled with the Vikings in the first quarter but faced little trouble afterwards, breaking away with the lead in the second quarter and hold ing onto it until the game’s end. Despite the absence of top scorer Derick Newton ’14, the team was still able to get into its stride offensively thanks to the efforts of Michael Sheng ’14, Alex Copeland ’15, Parsa Shoa ’16 and Bryan Polan ’14. Polan dropped 30 points on Dorsey in the Wolverines’ 94-64 win yesterday.

Now 3-3 on the season, the Wolverines will next face host University High School Friday, Dec. 13.
