Squad drops first league game, comes back with one point victory in next game

The girls’ basketball team bounced back from an in-league loss to Chaminade with a 55-54 win over Horizon Academy in the Alemany Shootout Saturday.

The 70-47 loss to Chaminade was the team’s first league loss this season, dropping its league record to 1-1. Jayla Ruffus-Milner ’17 led the team in scoring with 14 points. Lindsey Tse ’16 was the only other Wolverine in double figures with 10 points.

Against Horizon Academy, Ruffus-Milner led the team in scoring again with 13 points. The matchup was a non-league game.

The girls next game is another non-league matchup against Fairmont Prep tomorrow in the Fairmont Shootout. The game is at 6 p.m. in the Orangewood Prep gymnasium.
