The National Merit Scholarship Corporation named 27 seniors as National Merit Semifinalists based on their PSAT scores. This marks an increase in Harvard-Westlake semifinalists from the past two years.
This year’s semifinalists, comprising of about 16,000 seniors from all over the country, make up less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.
The NMSC announced that these semifinalists will be considered for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.
The list of semifinalists in the Class of 2019 is below.
