Needing only one more victory to finish off an undefeated season, the girls’ golf team received a huge boost before its last match even started.

Turned out, the girls didn’t need it.

The squad capped its regular season with a 200-305 victory over Alemany Oct. 14.  The Warriors arrived shorthanded and were penalized 81 strokes (double par plus one) for each of its two missing players (162 total).

“I think it just says how well we work together and how dedicated we are this season,” team captain Chantalle Wang ’17 said about their undefeated season.

Meanwhile, the Wolverines posted the lowest score they’ve recorded this season at Encino golf course despite missing starter Daisy Wan ’20.

The victory moved the Wolverines’ record to 7-0, good for first in the Mission League entering the league finals on Monday.

“We are going to be preparing mentally,” Wang said. “We want to focus on playing our best golf that day.”
The finals will begin at Balboa golf course at 10:30 a.m.
