US to produce “Company,” “As You Like It” next year

“Company” will be the fall musical and “As You Like It” will be the winter play next year.

“Company,” with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by George Furth, will be directed by performing arts teachers Michele Spears and Ted Walch. Spears will choreograph the musical.

“As You Like It,” a play by William Shakespeare, will be directed by performing arts teacher Christopher Moore. English teacher Jocelyn Medawar will work on the production as a dramaturge.

Audition information for both productions will become available online in mid-July, Moore said.

Other main-stage theater events for the school year will include the Playwrights Festival and performances by the Scene Monkeys and the Jackanapes.
