Field hockey beats Chaminade 6-0 in 10th win of undefeated season

Field hockey shut out Chaminade 6-0 today, continuing an undefeated season.

This is the team’s 10th win of the season. The goals were scored by Rachel Brown ’20, Cypress Toomey ’19, Taylor Redmond ’18, Emily Kornguth ’20, Mia Reilly ’18, and Sam Yeh ’20.

Team captain Alyse Tran ’18 was satisfied with the team’s performance.

“We were really able to focus on clean playing like utilizing transfers to switch the field, and passing more quickly and efficiently,” Tran said. “I think we did so well because we were really fired up and aggressive from the start.”

The team plays Huntington Beach on Saturday. Until their 1-0 win earlier this season, the Wolverines hadn’t beat the Oilers in four years.

“This win is of course great for our spirit, but we still have to work hard and get ready for our hardest game yet this homecoming weekend,” Tran said.
