Girls’ soccer defeated Notre Dame High School 1-0 today on Senior Night, extending their undefeated season. The team is currently 14-0-6 overall and 7-0-1 in league play. The Wolverines clinched the Mission League Title last Friday after beating Flintridge Sacred Heart High School 2-0.

The one goal of the match was from senior forward Annabelle Heisel ’19 early in the second half.

The squad’s twelve seniors, Cameron Stokes ’19, KK Bishop ’19, Kerry Neil ’19, Heisel, Katherine Hollis ’19, Sara Wanyana-Tyaba ’19, Olivia Bautista ’19, Sara Kangaslahti ’19, Whitney Elson ’19, Flynn Klace ’19, Zoe Banks ’19 and Nicole Smith ’19, were all honored for their dedication and leadership in the program. According to players, the seniors on the team were instrumental in developing team chemistry.

“Almost immediately, the seniors included me and made me feel like part of the team,” forward Brooke Stanford ’21 said. “On the field, they had my back no matter what, even when I messed up, they continued to encourage and support me.”

The squad will find out their next opponents in the first round of CIF D1-SS Playoffs on Saturday
