The athletic department received a three hour lesson on CPR in Chalmers last Tuesday. Physical Education Department Head Kimberly Hieatt, Athletic Director Darlene Bible and Head of Athletics Audrius Barzdukas instructed 95 coaches in lifesaving techniques. They had to correctly perform CPR on dummies and were instructed how to use defibrillators located around campus. Hieatt said the goal of the program is to make sure every coach is prepared to deal with an emergency.
