College science professors to speak in college series

Science teacher Antonio Nassar will host a series of lectures by college science professors, starting third period Oct. 19 in Ahmanson with Troy Carter, an assistant professor in the department of physics  and astronomy at UCLA. The subject of Carter’s lecture will be fusion energy and although the lecture is directed towards those in the astronomy and physics classes, Nassar encourages all interested students to attend. Rajeev Jain (Gautam ’08), a professor of electrical engineering at UCLA, will speak Oct. 27. Nassar expects to have six lectures this year and says the purpose of the series is to make a link between college and high school sciences.
