Model UN plays host to conference

Harvard-Westlake hosted the second annual Model United Nations conference on Oct. 7. Club vice-president Nuriel Moghavem ’07 was appointed as the secretary general of the conference.

All the beginner delegates were in their own committee in which they were not required to go through most formalities of a usual conference. The beginner committee, World Health Organization, was headed by club president Alex Ahn ’07 and secretary Rebecca Title ’08.

Moghavem and Matthew Edwards ’08 headed the more experienced committee, Security Council.

At the end of the conference, awards were given for each committee. The committee heads chose persons to win gavel, outstanding and commendations. The gavel winners in World Health Organization and Security Council respectively were Zach Witten ’08 and Kurt Sibert ’07.
