The varsity boys’ volleyball team lost to rival Loyola in 5 games Tuesday night, allowing Loyola to tie them for first in the Mission League standings.
After the Wolverines won the first two games (25-21, 27-25), Loyola came surging back and won three consecutive games (26-24, 26-24, 15-11).
In the third game, the Wolverines were unable to capitalize on a 15-11 lead and ended up losing the game and ultimately the match after the momentum swung in the direction of the Cubs.
The first time these two teams met this season on March 27, the Wolverines were victorious and snapped the Cubs’ 99 league match winning streak.
