Cross country gets All-American coach to help girls’ team

Four-time All-American Adia Armstrong will fill vacancies in the Athletics Departments on both campuses.  Armstrong will serve as an assistant coach on the girls’ varsity cross country team and will also coach physical education on the middle school campus. For girls’ varsity cross country, Armstrong will assist Head Coach Kim Hieatt in creating workouts, appropriate warm-up exercises and effective drills.  At the Middle School, Armstrong will coach P.E. and specialize in total body fitness.
Armstrong is experienced as a runner, having ran both at the collegiate level and internationally.  At UCLA, she was a four-time All-American in track and field and a Pac-10 champion in 2000. She then ran for her country, Trinidad and Tobago, at the 2003 Pan-American games and the 2002 British Commonweath games.
