Seven members of the Harvard-Westlake debate team attended the Yale Invitational Tournament last weekend. All debaters competed in Lincoln-Douglas debate and were accompanied by their coach, Michael Beitz.
In preparation for the new school year, the novices who competed in the tournament, Katharine Hong â10, Lauren Seo â10, Jeffrey Sperling â11, and Sade Tavangarian â11 attended summer debate camps.
Debate captain Sean Nadel â09, Tony Baker â09, and Ben Bared â09 competed at the varsity level.
âThe Yale Debate Tournament was a great experience for our team. Itâs wonderful to see more Harvard-Westlake kids get involved,â Nadel said.
