Football loses at Homecoming to Serra

By A.J. Calabrese

The Wolverines lost their second league game to the Serra Cavaliers 31-7 in front of packed stands Saturday night. The game was the first  Wolverine Homecoming game played underneath the new field lights.

Serra’s offense controlled the game, as running back Carl Winston scored three touchdowns. Also scoring was Anthony Carpenter on a short run at the end of the first half.

The Wolverines turned the ball over twice on an interception and a fumble. Their touchdown came inthe last minutes of the game, as Sean Berman ’09 connected with Jackson Ligouri ’10 in the end zone.

The Cavaliers came into the game coming off of a 65-6 rout of Bosco Tech. The Wolverines play Bosco Tech at home next week and need to win their final two games in order to have a chance at making the CIF playoffs.
