Head of Upper School Harry Salamandra and Head of Middle School Ronnie Codrington-Cazeau first gave a basic overview of school events that have occurred since the beginning of September, then outlined some highlights for the rest of the year.

Cazeau discussed the recent middle school retreats, the Halloween dance on Oct. 26 and how  grades would be mailed out.

She reminded parents that the grades are not permanent, but rather progress reports.
Salamandra described the upper school grading system, which he said differs from the middle school’s in that grades are cumulative for the entire year.

The meeting ended with a question-and-answer session.  Topics varied from how the school is supporting Max Ritvo ’09, who is receiving chemotherapy treatment for cancer (see related story page A4) to how much time athletes spend at school for practices and training.
