20 students chosen for 2012-2013 improv troupe

Performing arts teacher and Scene Monkeys adviser Michele Spears selected 20 students for the 2012-2013 Scene Monkeys.

New members were admitted after two rounds of callbacks over two weeks. Fifty students auditioned for a spot in the group, which has consistently grown in size from 12 students in 2010 to 17 in 2011 to 20 this year.

“I’m very excited and most nervous for the first performance,” first-time Scene Monkey Ben Gail ’13 said. “I can hardly imagine it. I’m most looking forward to the straight scenes…where it’s just me and one or two other people, we’re given a place and they just say, ‘go.’ I love that there are so few limitations.”
