Field hockey ousted by Newport Harbor

The girls’ field hockey team ended its season with a win over Louisville in a consolation game after losing to Newport Harbor in the CIF semifinals. As a result, the team placed it in third place in the Tournament of Champions.

In the first round of playoffs the team beat Bonita at Bonita High School, eventually winning in five extra rounds of strokes after each team was unable to score after regular play and a sudden death round.
Earlier in the season, the team lost to Newport Harbor by a lopsided score of 4-0, but in the last regular game the team managed to eke out a 1-0 win.

In their game against Newport Harbor, the team’s offensive woes that had plagued them throughout the season continued to cause a problem, and they were unable to score throughout the game.

    Harbor won in overtime.
