The boys’ cross country team narrowly lost to Notre Dame in the sweepstakes race at the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational last Friday. The Wolverines trailed Notre Dame by 16 points. Kevin On ’11 led the team with a fifth place finish and a time of 15:30, the Wolverine record for the course. Aaron de Toledo ’12 finished eighth place with a time of 15:48. Following de Toledo were David Abergel ’11 in 14th place, Charlie Stigler ’11 in 37th place, Judd Liebman ’12 in 49th, and freshman David Manahan ’14 finished in 90th.

Despite placing first and second individually in the girls’ sweepstakes race, Cami Chapus ’12 and Amy Weissenbach ’12 were unable to lead the girls’ varsity team to a first place finish. In a race that pitted nine of the top ten cross country programs in the state, the girls’ team placed third, losing to JSerra and La Reina. Chapus finished the course with a time of 17:32. Weissenbach finished eight seconds after.

Nikki Goren ’12 placed third in the meet. Lauren Hansson ’11 finished 39th. Sophomores Caitlin Yee ’13 and Yasmin Moreno ’13 finished 44th and 63rd, respectively. Lily Einstein ’11 placed 68th.
