Girls’ basketball star Skylar Tsutsui ’11 broke the 1,000 point career milestone during her game against Monroe on Dec. 31.
Following a high right ankle sprain from the game on Dec. 10, Tsutsui came back onto the court, scoring six points in the fourth quarter, and secured the win for the Wolverines 48-44. She raised her career point total to 1,006, including her freshman year at Granada Hills High.
“It felt surreal because I never even imagined I’d be able to reach 1,000 points when I arrived in 10th grade,” Tsutsui said. “It was an amazing feeling because when I twisted my ankle, I thought I was out for the whole season.”
