CNPA names Chronicle one of state’s top 2 papers

 

The California Newspaper Publishing Association notified the Chronicle that it has won a spot as either the first or second best high school newspaper in the state in Better Newspaper Contest for 2010. At the annual luncheon and awards ceremony at the Wilshire Grand in Los Angeles Saturday, the winners for the high school, college and professional divisions of the contest will be announced and the results will be posted online after 3 p.m.

In the past seven years, the Chronicle has won first place in this competition six times. The quality of design and coverage are both evaluated when winners are chosen. Publications are judged by a panel of distinguished journalists who hold positions such as editors, managers, design and marketing specialists and publishers from all across the country. Over has over 4,500 newspapers apply and over 440 awards are issued between multiple categories.
