Girls Volleyball Outlasts Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in 4th set to get the W

By Charlton Azuoma

The girls volleyball team visited Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy for their second league matchup this week.

The Wolverines opened on a good note, winning the first set handily, 25-16. The following set however, the Tologs retaliated by winning the second set 23-25 to even things out.

“Well I think that this game we really focused on minimizing the errors on our side of the court,” defensive specialist Sofia Davila ’12 said.

The Wolverines’ victories in the last two sets are a showing of that focus and ball control as they capped off their fourth Mission league victory by scores of 25-22 and 28-26.

On the offensive end for the Wolverines, Jackie Beyer ’13 was racking up the kills as she finished the night off with 19 kills.

“We hit the ball in and played really smart, and kept pushing all the way to the end,” Davila added.

The Wolverines move to a 4-5 Mission League record, and will play in the Santa Barbara Tournament starting on Oct. 28, which features California volleyball powerhouses such as Marymount and Newport Harbor.
