Girls’ Soccer wins first game in 8-0 shutout

By Michael Aronson

In its first game of the season, the girls’ soccer squad shutout the Palisades Dolphins with an 8-0 home victory on Wednesday, behind stellar play from captain Danielle Duhl ’12 and Catherina Gores ’14.

Duhl, a seasoned veteran, and Gores, making her varsity debut, each netted hat tricks in the Wolverine’s commanding victory, with Bella Hicks ’12 and Hannah Lichtenstein ’13 adding the other two.

“This win was pretty big,” defender Alyse Gellis ’13 said. “We were just happy to get the shutout.”

The Wolverines’ next game comes at Westlake this Saturday.
