Senior pitches at 100 miles per hour, shuts out El Camino

By Camille Shooshani

Right-handed pitcher and MLB prospect Lucas Giolito ’12 threw at least two 100 mile per hour pitches yesterday, according to the Los Angeles Times, in the baseball team’s 11-0 win over El Camino Real in the quarterfinals of the Easton Tournament.

Giolito yielded only one hit over six innings in his milestone game.

On offense, first baseman Brandon Finkelstein ’12 had a two-run single and outfielder Max Fried ’12 hit 3-3.

The team plays in semifinals Thursday at West Ranch and opens the Mission League Tuesday against Alemany.
