The Liberty League of Div. III college baseball named third basemen Jason Garfinkel ’11 of Vassar College the Liberty League Rookie of the Week on Monday, April 9.
Between April 2 and April 8, Garfinkel had nine hits in 20 at bats for the Brewers in five games. He also scored eight runs, drove in eight runs, hit two doubles and drew four walks. Vassar fell to Mount St. Mary College 16-14 but took three of four games from the Rochester Institute of Technology during a weekend series. Vassar is 8-13 overall on the season and 6-6 in league.
Garfinkel was a three-year letterman for the baseball team at Harvard-Westlake. During his senior season last year, he was selected to the All-Mission League Team and helped lead the Wolverines to their first Mission League Championship in program history.
