Alum stars in new movie about young TV writer

Fran Kranz ’00 stars in the new movie “The TV Set.” The film follows the story of a young TV writer as he writes, casts, produces and finally airs his new TV show. Kranz previously appeared in movies such as “Training Day,” “Matchstick Men” and “The Village.” Kranz attended high school with Jake Gyllenhaal ’99, and his first movie, “Donnie Darko,” featured Gyllenhaal in the lead role. Kranz will next appear in the movie “Whirlygirl,” which is due in theatres May 2.
