Boys’ basketball season comes to end

    By Jack Davis

The boys’ basketball team quest for a state title came to end Tuesday night as the visiting Wolverines lost 79-74 to Ridgeview in Bakersfield. The lost was the second straight for the boys, this coming off the heels of a 22 game win streak. After losing to Compton Centennial in CIF semifinals, the boys’ were invited to the state tournament but drew a very low seed and were forced to play Ridgeview on the road. The trip to Ridgeview, located in Bakersfield, took two hours and the team was greeted by a packed to capacity gym, with no Harvard-Westlake Fanatics accompanying the team.

“It was a really hostile environment and a tough place to play,” guard Chris Barnum ’10 said. “But there is no excuse we didn’t play our best and I’m sad our season had to come to an end.”
