Boys’ basketball wins second straight in Palos Verdes Tournament

The boys’ varsity basketball team claimed their second straight victory in the Palos Verdes Tournament with a 66-54 win over South Torrance on Thursday.

Forward Derick Newton ’14 and guard Mike Sheng ’14 were once again the top scorers for the Wolverines with 21 points and 19 points respectively.

With the win, the team improves to 4-2 on the season. The squad defeated Centennial Compton in their first game of the tournament on Dec. 12 to bounce back from a two game losing streak that came at the end of the Torrance Tournament.

The team’s next game in the tournament will be on Saturday, Dec. 15 against an opponent to be determined.
