Boys’ soccer wins against Alemany

By Charlton Azuoma

The varsity boys’ soccer team (5-1, 14-2-2), fresh off of a comeback victory against Crespi, defeated the Alemany Warriors (0-5-1, 1-6-1) at home yesterday.

This time, it was midfielder Charlie Porter ’12 who was able to find the back of the net for the Wolverines in another Mission League victory. The game finished at 1-0.

The fifth in six games for the team, the victory has them sitting atop the Mission League with rival Loyola Cubs sitting at the number two spot.

The team’s combination of a spread-attack offense along with solid defensive play has been the main reason for their success so far this season. They’ve scored 42 goals this season while  only ceding 13.

The Wolverines look forward to playing the St. Francis at home on Monday.
