Boys’ volleyball season ends with playoff loss at Huntington Beach

By Luke Holthouse

After stealing the first set in extra points, the boys’ volleyball team was swept in the following three sets by Huntington Beach in the first round of CIF playoffs. The season-ending loss marks the second year in a row that the Wolverines fell in the first round of playoffs.

The Wolverines finished tied for second place in the Mission League with Crespi and lost a coin flip that decided which team would be seeded second and third in the playoff bracket. The Wolverines were 8-4 in league play. The loss tonight drops them to 17-10 overall.

Six seniors will graduate from this year’s team: Charlton Azouma ’12, Stephen Carr ’12, Alan Dritely ’12, Charlie Porter ’12, Jake Schapiro ’12 and Charlie Troy ’12.
