Cross country runs in Palos Verdes Invitational

The girls’ varsity cross country took third place overall out of seventeen in the Palos Verdes Invitational on Saturday, while the boys’ team finished seventh overall out of twenty. The Wolverines’ competition today marks their third invitational of the season and their last before the annual Mount San Antonio College Invitational.

On the girls’ side, Lizzy Thomas ’14 and Rebecca Armstrong ’14 each took third place in the girls’ group one and group four races respectively. Audrey Wilson ’15 placed fourth in the girls’ group two race while Lauren Jones ’16 finished fourth in the group three race.

For the boys, freshmen stepped up as Jack Stovitz ’16 and Jeffrey Ehlers ’16 each placed fifth in the boys’ group four and group seven races respectively.

Cross country will take part in their second league meet of the season at Balboa Park on Thursday, Oct. 4 before the Mt. SAC Invitational, their last competition of the regular season, on Friday, Oct. 19.
