Drive held to collect prom dresses

The annual Prom Drive for new or gently-used prom dresses and accessories will be held from Feb. 24-28.

“We will be donating all the items directly to Operation School Bell, partnered with LAUSD Homeless Education Board,” Aiyana White ’14 said.

Operation School Bell is a non-profit organization that provides new school clothes to underprivileged LAUSD students. The prom drive, run by White and Katie Jung ’14, will also be collecting new make-up, shawls, accessories and jewelry, and clutches and evening bags.

“The items will be donated to 50 girls who have pushed through high school despite their difficult circumstances and will graduate,” White said.

The girls who will receive these donations are homeless and most of them are living in temporary homes.
