Field hockey beats Glendora to stay undefeated

Field hockey beat Glendora 2-1 on Thursday to stay undefeated.

This is the first time any team has scored on the Wolverines all season.

“Honestly, we were dominating the entire game and it was clear that we were going to win,” team captain Alyse Tran ’18 said. “It was 2-0 for the whole game until the last 3 minutes, and they scored because we were a little broken up in the defense.”

Despite surrendering a goal, the team captain Erin Lee ’18 said the team was proud of its performance.

“We dominated the entire game,” Lee said. “I don’t have anything else to say other than that I’m extremely proud of my teammates for working tirelessly to continue getting wins.”

Both goals were scored by left forward Nicole Bahar ’18 off of assists from team captain Mia Reilly ’18 and Tran.

The team is on pace to beat its 15-3-3 record last year. Midfielder Sydney Pizer ’19 cites the team chemistry as the key to their success.

“I’m personally proud of how supportive we were to one another throughout the game and how resilient we were as a team,” Pizer said. “Our great passing, determination, and camaraderie were definitely very important to our success today. I’m extraordinarily grateful to be on a team with these girls.”

The team plays Bonita on Tuesday.

“I think that it’s important for us to go into the next game just as aggressive and motivated as we were our very first game of the season,” Tran said. “If we stay humble and play how we always do, we should keep on being successful.”
