Field Hockey wins first league match of the season

In its first league game of the regular season, the field hockey team defeated Bonita High School, last year’s field hockey league champion, 1-0 in overtime at home earlier this afternoon.

Rachel Brown ’20 assisted Mia Reilly ’18 during sudden death overtime after regulation time ended scoreless.

This is the first time the squad has won a game in overtime in more than a year.

Coming into this game, the Wolverines already had an overall record of 6-1-3.

Alyse Tran ’18 was very happy with the squad’s play.

“The game may have been the most difficult one we have played yet, though having everyone on the team cheering for us during the sudden death really helped,” Tran said.  “They were the best team in the league until now and I am so proud.”
