Field hockey beat Westminster 10-0 today in the home opener, marking their second win of the season.

Forward Sydney Pizer ’19 said that she was satisfied with the team’s performance.

“Our most anticipated competition is still yet to come but our team is continuing to practice and enhance our level of play to prepare for these upcoming challenges,” Pizer said. “I am extraordinarily optimistic and thrilled for this team and season.”

This is the squad’s second shutout of the season after beating Marina 9-0 on Tuesday. Despite the strong start, center midfielder Rachel Brown ’20 said that the team can still improve before its next game.

“The first two games of the season have been high scoring games so going forward it is important to maintain composure especially in tight games,” Brown said.

The Wolverines will play next against Huntington Beach on Tuesday. Last season, the Wolverines defeated Huntington Beach 1-0 on Sep. 19.
