First and Third Assembly schedule to change for upcoming school year

“First and Third Wednesday” assemblies will follow a different schedule next  school year, Assistant Head of Upper School Michelle Bracken announced at the final assembly of the year. Instead of the current schedule, where assemblies are held bimonthly, students will attend only one assembly on the first Wednesday of every month.

Overseen by Community and Character Committee, the assemblies were created to form a sense of community at the Upper School and keep students, teachers and faculty informed about events around campus.

Junior prefect Ryan Stanford ’19 said that the change comes as she noticed more students expressing discontent with the assemblies.

“I think it’s important to have moments where we can come together as a school and bond as a community,”  Stanford said. “The challenge [for next year] is to make the assemblies that we do have more engaging and fun to be at.”
