Football improves to 3-1 with 36 point victory

By Luke Holthouse

The varsity football team beat Sylmar tonight 49-13. It is the third straight game that the team beat an opponent by more than five touchdowns. Quarterback
Chad Kanoff ’13 threw four touchdown passes and rushed for one. Clinton
Hooks ’13 and Julian Shabahang ’12 each caught
two of Kanoff’s touchdown passes. Correy King ’13 and Garret Robinson ’15
also scored rushing touchdowns.

Kanoff said the team’s success on offense could be attributed to its
preparation this week in practice.

“We had a good game plan coming in
and then we executed,” Kanoff said. “We just have to keep doing what we’ve been doing.”

Defensively, lineman Henry Schlossberg ’13 said the team needed to do a
better job controlling the line of scrimmage but defended the passing
game well. Will Reagan ’12 had an interception that led to Shabahang’s
second touchdown catch in the 2nd quarter.

The Wolverines improved to 3-1 on the season. They play El Camino Real next Saturday, Oct. 1, on Homecoming.
