Game of the month

By David Gobel

Because of the team’s loss to St. Francis on Thursday, the boys’ volleyball team will most likely need to win its last three games of the season to make CIF playoffs. A 5-4 win over Alemany on Senior Night could be the deciding factor as to who gets the last CIF playoff spot in the Mission League.

The Wolverines will need to watch out for Alemany outside hitter Matt Tarantino, who is commited to the top boys’ volleyball program in the nation, Pepperdine. Tarantino is 6’8’’ and has a wingspan of 8’8’’. In order to stop him, Wolverine hitters Damiene Cain ’11 and Spencer Eichler ’11 along with libero Matt Goldhaber will need to play very efficiently to neutralize Tarantino’s dominating presence.
