The boys’ and girls’ swimming teams beat Chaminade today in the second meet of the season, with the girls finishing 93-25 and the boys finishing 125-25.

The girls’ and boys’ teams are both currently 2-0 after they won their first meet on Tuesday against Crespi and Marlborough.

Adam Copses ’20 said that he was pleased with the team’s performance.

“I think we are swimming really well, rallying together in our relays and individually,” Copses said.

For the boys, swimmers Paul LeClerc ’18, Nicholas Zhang ’19 and Zane Grenoble ’19 finished with ten points. LeClerc came in first place in the 200-yard medley relay, 50-yard free and 200-yard free relay. Zhang won the 200-yard free and 200-yard free relay.

For the girls, swimmers Lee Nichols ’20 and Angelica Sih ’20 led the team with 12 points each. Nichols came in first place in all four of the events she raced in, winning the 200-yard medley relay, 200-yard free, 100-yard free and 200-yard free. Sih finished second in the 200-yard free relay but first in the 100-yard back, 200-yard medley relay and 200-yard individual medley.

The medley races consist of four different swimming styles, backstroke, butterfly stroke, breaststroke and freestyle.

Copses said that he is looking forward to this season.

“You know, it’s a lot different than being a freshman last year so it’s a lot more fun being experienced,” Copses said. “It feels good to be apart of the team again and race.”

The swim teams will compete in their next league meet on March 15 against Loyola and Flintridge Sacred Heart.
