By Camille Shooshani

With six seconds left in overtime, Kathi Bolton-Ford ’13 clinched the varsity girls’ basketball team’s first Mission League win with a jump shot, bringing the final score to 51-50.

After trailing Notre Dame throughout the second half by as much as 12 points, the team rallied in the fourth quarter to tie it up and move to overtime, where they set their Mission League record at 1-0.

“After last night, you kind of feel invincible,” guard Natalie Florescu ’13 said. “We feel like we could do anything.”

Overall, the girls’ record stands at 8-9. The team played in the Santa Barbara Tournament and West Coast Festival over Winter Break where they went 1-3 and 4-1.

“It’s been a journey, but it finally feels like we’re starting to figure out our roles within the team,” guard Alixx Lucas ’13 said. “We’re definitely working more in sync.”
