Girls’ Basketball wins first game of the season

The Girls’ Basketball Team won its first game of the season 63-60 against the Windward Wildcats at home today.

Sophomore standout Jayla Ruffus-Milner ’18 led the Wolverines in scoring with 20 points, while Sidney Tsutsui ’17 and Lauren Lapersade ’17 put in strong performances as well with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

The squad maintained a comfortable lead throughout the game, and was ahead by as many as 19 points in the fourth quarter until the Wildcats mounted a comeback effort to bring the game down to the wire.

The Wolverines will hope to carry the momentum from this early-season win into the Redondo Union High School Tournament Nov. 30, when they take on Crenshaw.
