The girls’ basketball team defeated Mater Dei 59-58 on Feb. 18 in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 1 Playoffs.
Earlier in the season, the squad defeated Mater Dei easily in a 53-28 battle, however this game was more difficult, with the Wolverines winning by only a one point margin.
The team is currently ranked 22nd in the nation, and ranked seventh in the state.
With the win, the girls will continue in the playoffs, playing their next game Feb. 22, and as of press time their opponent is to be determined.
