Both boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were victors Tuesday night in the first round for a state title in back-to-back games in Taper. Girls’ basketball trounced Yosemite High School, 66-54 and boys’ basketball triumped in a 74-58 scrappy game against Garfield.
There will be another double-header in Taper Thursday night when the girls take on Inglewood and the boys face
Chatsworth.
Both games will be live-blogged on Chronicle online.
On Saturday, boys’ basketball defeated Inglewood to win a CIF championship, 47-45. Girls’ basketball fell short of capturing a CIF title after losing to Anaheim Canyon, 66-45, in the Southern Section Division 2A Finals last Thursday.
