Girls’ cross country takes first at League Finals; boys take second

The girls’ varsity cross country team clinched their fifth straight Mission League title after taking first in League Finals at Woodley Park on Thursday, while the boys’ team just missed the top spot, taking second overall.

Individually, Lizzy Thomas ’14, Trishta Dordi ’15, and co-captain Yasmin Moreno placed second, third, and sixth respectively to secure the first overall spot for the girls.

For the boys, Ben Weissenbach ’15 took second individually, followed by co-captain David Manahan, who finished sixth.

League Finals marked the beginning of the cross country postseason. CIF Preliminaries will take place at Mount San Antonio College on Nov. 10, followed by CIF Finals at Mt. SAC on Nov. 17. If they qualify, runners will head to Woodward Park in Fresno for State Finals on Nov. 24.
