By Camille Shooshani

With goals from Cami Chapus ’12, Danielle Duhl ’12, Brianna Gazmarian ’15, Mackenzie Howe ’14, Hannah Lichtenstien ’13, Lucy Putnam ’14 and Malanna Wheat ’14, the girls’ soccer team decisively defeated Newport Harbor 7-1 in the first round of CIF playoffs Friday afternoon.

By the end of the first half, the girls had already shut out Newport Harbor 5-0 with 3 quick goals in the first five minutes of play.

The Wolverines dominated possession in the first half, maintaining control on offense almost continually for the first ten minutes.

The win solidified a spot in the second round Wednesday.  The opponent is still undecided.
